Project Status:
- First unit installed 1-17-26, Rebuilt/Rewired PDUs and PSUs on all equipment.

Major Changes to Rack Power Distribution:
Not enough kVA available
Rack uses ~1kVA (1KW)
Existing infra has capacity of 2.8kVA, but packs are dated and keep throwing errors and eating batteries.
Dual Dell Branded 2kVA Rackmount UPS Units, EATON Whitelabel Units.
Concern regarding these use 20a C19 plugs, but bought cheater cord(s) 😝

20a Service Switchover:
New UPS setup (if I add more servers) requires 20a service to outlet.
This in-turn requires a complete gut-job of existing 15a service wiring to existing outlet:
Logic / Steps:
- De-energize circuit (flip breaker)
- Pull-out UPS plugs (we'll save this for later)
- Pull 15a wiring
- Replace w/20a Wiring (30ft should suffice, pre-route this before de-energizing to save battery power, dumbass)
- Pull 15a breaker from 3rd slot, replace with 10a. (This is required by NFTA/NEC, you MUST balance both legs.)
- Pull 15a breaker from rack slot, replace with 20a breaker.
- Replace 15a outlet with 20a outlet. (I want to install a safety/tamper-resist outlet)
- Re-energize circuit, and verify circuit validity w/oulet tester.
- De-energize circuit
- Plug UPS units back in.
- Re-energize circuits, verify UPS units are back on line-power.
- Go down 3 shots of alcohol and celebrate. 🎉
